About
Hey, I’m Elizabeth Gaer-Leví, founder of Gaer Wear (stylized as Gær Wær), a lifelong thrifter, curator, and lover of clothes with a past.

Gaer Wear started the way many good things do: as a small Depop and Mercari side quest during undergrad, built from thrift racks, flea markets, late-night scrolling, and an instinct for pieces worth keeping.

What began as a side hustle slowly became a philosophy; one rooted in care, circulation, and storytelling.
I’ve always believed the items you choose to bring into your space are more than trends or transactions.
They’re receipts.
They carry seasons, cities, eras; versions of the people who wore them before you.
Gaer Wear exists to keep those stories going.
The POV
We curate new, vintage, and pre-loved pieces with one goal in mind:
to keep good things in circulation and out of landfills.
That means:
-
Vintage finds with character
-
Pre-loved pieces that still have life left
-
Select newer or fast-fashion items that are worth keeping, rewearing, and passing on
We don’t believe sustainability is about perfection.
It’s about intention, honesty, and making better use of what already exists.
If a piece is wearable, lovable, and useful, it deserves a longer life.
Pricing With Purpose
Most Gaer Wear pieces are priced at $18 or under, a number chosen intentionally.
(Yes, it’s good mojo. And yes, it’s about accessibility.)
Our pricing philosophy is simple:
-
High–low, always
-
No gatekeeping good style
-
No shame around budget
If you truly love something but it’s out of reach:
-
Message us with a screenshot
-
Ask about bundles, swaps, or flexible pricing
We offer:
-
18% off bundles of 3+ items priced $18 and under
-
Occasional swaps when it helps keep items moving and worn
The only pieces excluded from discounts are our WÆR (Ware) collection, as those are handmade by artisans and priced to fairly support their work.
Our priority is circulation, not margins.
Our Collections
Each collection reflects a different way pieces live in the world.
Timeless Chic Wears
Clean silhouettes, neutral tones, and pieces that don’t belong to a single era. These are wardrobe anchors; easy to wear, easy to repeat, easy to keep.
Y2K Wears
Early-2000s energy without the costume feel.
Going-out tops, playful textures, nostalgic cuts; curated to feel wearable now, not stuck in the past.
Doublewide Chic Wears
Soft, lived-in pieces with a little grit—comfort, resilience, and style that doesn’t try too hard. This collection is a love letter to my upbringing: the years my family lived in a double-wide after the 2008 crash, and the kind of “make it work” beauty that comes from real life.
“Doublewide” gets used like an insult sometimes. In this collection, it’s reclaimed, because there’s nothing small, shameful, or lesser about the places that raise us. These are the pieces that feel like real life: worn-in, dependable, and oddly confidence-giving. Sometimes what you wear doesn’t just look good- it feels like home.
The Second Wears
Pieces that didn’t quite fit the main collections, but are the main character in their own right.
Priced lower, worn-in, perfectly imperfect.
100% of proceeds from The Second Wears support Gaer Cares.
WÆR (Ware)
Handmade wooden hair combs, picks, and accessories crafted by family-run multi-generational manufacturer and woodworking artisans in Mexico.
These pieces are ethically sourced, thoughtfully made, and priced to honor the labor behind them.
Gaer Cares
Gaer Cares is our give-back arm; quiet, consistent, and personal.
Proceeds from The Second Wears collection go directly toward supporting a rural cat colony of 40+ cats. These are animals without access to city or county resources—cats we feed, shelter, and care for daily while working toward spay and neuter efforts for the entire colony.
This isn’t charity for optics.
It’s care because it’s needed.
What It All Comes Back To
Gaer Wear is about:
-
Keeping items used, worn, shared, and re-loved
-
Making style feel accessible, not precious
-
Choosing care over excess
Wear it.
Lend it.
Rewear it.
Dress it up, down, and everywhere in between.
Because the best piece is the one that actually gets worn.
Chosen with care. Dropped weekly.
